Jesse Lucas’ “Money” Questions What We’re All Chasing

Jesse Lucas is taking a different approach to a topic we hear about all the time in music money.

On his latest release “Money” Lucas isn’t just talking about getting rich or chasing success. He touches on the pressure that comes with wanting more, dealing with uncertainty and trying to understand what really matters along the way.

The visuals help bring that idea together.

Throughout the video Jesse goes from money falling around him to open fields, darker effects and glitch heavy scenes. It feels like two different worlds coming together. The chase for money and success while still trying to stay grounded through everything that comes with it.

One of the lines that stands out is “Time’s the only thing that’s never certain” The bar really sums up a lot of what the record is about. You can chase money, work harder and plan for what’s next but there are still things in life you can’t control.

Lucas also brings faith into the record. He references God while reflecting on life and the circumstances around him. It gives “Money” another layer and makes it feel like the song is about more than just wealth.

The visual itself is fast paced and built for short form content. The word by word captions, quick transitions and different locations keep your attention while still letting the message come through.

With “Money” Jesse Lucas is showing there’s more to his music than what you see on the surface. He’s talking about success, faith, pressure and uncertainty while asking something a lot of people can relate to.

If we’re all chasing the same thing, what are we really chasing it for?
